| This paper describes groundwater problems of tunnel construction in Hokkaido、 Japan. About 20 tunnels were involved in groundwater problems such as water inrush、 water pollution、 or ground subsidence. The problems have been caused through tunnel construction in mountain and urban areas. We analyzed a relationship between geology and the problems. The result revealed that half of the problems were caused in Cenozoic volcanic areas in southwest of Hokkaido. |
