| A field observation of dynamic response of gravity type of quay wall to earthquakes is under action in the Port of Kushiro、 Hokkaido、 Japan. This project aims to reveal the mechanism of the damage to quay walls associated with the earthquake induced liquefaction of the backfill ground、 and provide the decisive information for the evaluation of earthquake earth pressure and the development of rational seismic design code. The outline of the project is introduced、 and some records of the dynamic behavior of the quay wall obtained so far in a small earthquake are presented. |
