Demonstrative study on hydrogen energy produced from biomass of milk cow slurry is carried out in Hokkaido、 the northernmost island of Japan、 where is employed large scale dairy farming. The one of the aim of this study is to establish the strage and transport system of hydrogen gas. Storage/reproduction process of organic hydride are examined by practical scale facilities in the experiment plant. hydrogen gas can be stored in a stable liquid form and small volume by the technology of organic hydride. Storage density of organic hydride is higher than that of other storage methods (compression、storage alloy etc.)、 and it is better to long storing and transport of energy. The hydrogenator add hydrogen produced by the methane reformer in the first half facilities to aromatic compounds such as toluene、 ( output : 120m3/day in regular operation ) organic hydrides such as methylcyclohexane is produced. These organic hydrides are stored temporally in the tank. The dehydrogenator reproduces hydrogen from the stored organic hydride ( output : 240m3/day in regular operation ). Reproduced hydrogen is supplied to the polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) for power generation. The system’s maximum output is 8.5 kW ( 0.85kW×10 units ). We carried out the operation experiments to prove the practical scale operation and confirm stability of the operation and reaction during long time in the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation facilities. The good result was obtained in those experiments、 Moreover、 the energy efficiency of each facility was considered from the substance and the energy budget data. |
