To improve the fatigue durability of steel plate decks、 reinforcement overlays with a high-performance fiber-reinforced cement composite called engineered cementitious composeite (ECC) are being applied. However、 wheel loading tests have revealed that the fatigue durability of ECC is reduced when it is submerged in water. This research shows that the main cause of their reduction is not ay softening effect of water、 but rather the effect of water pressure from moving wheels. This paper explores the damage mechanism and reports on wheel loading tests performed on submerged ECC reinforced deck slabs that are designed to reduce the water pressure. |
