In Japan、 to improve the durability of reinforced concrete slabs on bridges、 waterproofing has been applied to the entire slab in recent years. Such protective measures are especially important in cold、 snowy areas to inhibit the progress of slab deterioration caused by freezing and thawing. However、 the waterproofing function of many existing bridge slabs has declined due to the progress of damage to the protective layer. Accordingly、 it is necessary to clarify the effects of waterproofing under diverse conditions、 including those for waterproofing materials and construction methods.[*]This paper presents the results of a basic study conducted to investigate the necessity of waterproofing and the effects of current waterproof layers with the aim of providing basic data for evaluating the durability performance of waterproof layers in cold、 snowy regions. |
