| In this study，multiple analyses were made on the wave profiles of water levelsbefore and after the Hokkaido Nansei-oki Earthquake from the viewpoint of fractal and auto-correlation，based on the observation date of water levels in rivers which are usually used for observing precipiation．The effects of changes in the tide level on the water levels in rivers at the time of an esrthquake are also examined by comparing the water levels in rivers and tide levels in the harbors in the vicinity． |
