In recent years, river channel planning has been expected to conserve natural river banks to the highest possible extent. The plans should facilitate the minimum number of protection works and the minimum erosion resistance required for flood control. This means that river channels which have banks with various degrees of erosion resistance are formed. Thus,it is necessary to understand the transition of river channels caused by the difference in the erosion resistance of banks to draw effective river channel plans.[*]As a first step tuward this goal,we conducted an indoor experiment on a water channel with erosive banks. In this research,we targeted the arrangement of low water channel protection works and the transition of channels to assess their mechanism. |
