We made an experiment to research the dynamic behavior of reinforced concrete(RC)bridge piers.In the experiment,a pier model-mounted carriage was made to collide against a concrete wall with a buffer to exert an impact load on the base.A weight was used as a dead.load.The response acceleration of the weight was measured to experimentally examine the dynamic behavior of RC bridge piers,including their damage.[*]As a result,the following poinsts were clarified.(1)This experimental method is relatively useful in understanding the dynamic behavior of reinforced concrete bridge piers.(2)The transmission mechanism from input acceleration to response acceleration was obtained.(3)Once a plastic hinge has been formed at one point,the damege at that point alone is severe. |
